Diving Gili selang
Far-East of Bali
Gili Selang is the name of the small island in the far east of Bali. The launch is close to the island, and we’re amazed from the very first minutes of the dive. The coral gardens here are magnificent and full of life. We enjoy the shallow depths and magnificent colors at the start of the dive, before reaching the drop-off. This allows you to descend quite quickly to great depths, but you’ll need to be careful as the currents are often strong to very strong and can be downward.
Numerous corals litter the floor and brighten up the dive, but here anything is possible. Sharks of various species are often seen on this site: white and black tip, grey reef, hammerhead, and thresher sharks have all been spotted. Tuna, eagle rays, and napoleons are not uncommon. Photographers will be delighted with this wide-angle exploration.
Here, the waters of different seas meet and can throw up some big surprises. A site for experienced divers only, but well worth the detour.
We use Aqualung equipment on all our dives.
